I must be missing something - this didn't work for me. Running in 32bit mode with the max ver. set. It's still a no show in Safari...
Starting in version 2.9.23, Snow Leopard users will see this window:
Please click "Get 1Password 3" and follow the instructions to enable Snow Leopard support.

Chad forgot to include the standard disclaimer: this is a hacky workaround, not an official, supported solution. Et cetera, et cetera. We non-developers aren't running Snow Leopard so if this doesn't work, we can only wait for one of our devs to drop in when they have time and provide some insight.

I had to change the value to 6531 and it worked just fine.
Thanks for the tip!

Woops, had a typo there. Yes 6531 is the correct value.

If I do Get Info on Safari it doesn't show the 32-bit mode option that I've seen others have checked to make it work. I have a 1st gen MacBook Pro, could this be why?
Is there any way I can get 1Password to work with SL, or should I just wait for a new build with proper SL support?
Cool, thanks a lot![]()
Nice one. Thanks for the tip, lstoll, and welcome to the forums!

Hi, thanks for the short term hack - always good to have the option there.
I'm intrigued by where you're going to go from here, seeing as InputManagers aren't supported in 64-bit apps are you going to implement full Snow Leopard support with the method you detailed here or have there been roadblocks with that method? If that isn't happening are we going to get 64-bit support another way? It'd be a real shame to have to run Safari in 32-bit forever! Or is that already the method you use and you just need to recompile it for 64-bit?

Welcome to the forums, alexp2_ad. Our developers can comment further when we're ready to divulge more information but no, you won't have to run Safari in 32-bit forever. We're working on proper Snow Leopard compatibility.

I'm also very much interested in this, I have Snow Leopard and I need to have it, cannot go back to Leopard, for many reasons.
I have followed the above trick, but still cannot get 1passwd button on Safari at all.
The Safari build I am running is 6528.9 and I'm using Snow Leopard Mac OS X 10.6 (10A261c), which I do understand is not the latest build as released just after the WWDC.
Should I try anything else or is it advisable to upgrade my build to the latest Snow Leopard released?
Thank you for your support, keep up the great job!
That is a good question. Sadly we were pressed for time and were not able to test the earlier version of Snow Leopard. In theory it should be the same, but I can't say for sure. If you can upgrade, I'd say go for it because you likely will want to upgrade soon anyways.
Other than that, all I can suggest is to recheck the settings from Chad's original post, and maybe even reboot to be certain. Oh, one last thing: you can run 1Password > Help > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics Report and read the top of the report to see if any configuration issues are detected.
Thanks!![]()

I have tried the steps multiple times and still can't get 1Password to work in Safari 4 on Snow Leopard. My safari is build 6530.15, but I'm guessing 6531 is rounding up to cover it.
If these steps don't work for you then try removing and reinstalling the input manager and browser plugins for 1Password preferences.
Verify that you have a 1PasswdIM folder in /Library/InputManagers/
Any system logs that mention a failure to load 1Password would also help pinpoint your specific issue.

Tried that, no luck. Verified that there is a folder and it has a bundle and an info file.
I checked system logs and it doesn't even appear to have anything related to safari anywhere. I see messages about NetNewsWire loading 1Password and 1Password launching, but nothing related to Safari.
Have you made sure you're running Safari in 32-bit mode? Input Managers will not load into 64-bit code.
